#3 RALEIGH KNIGHTS,
#4 KENTUCKY REACH
ADVANCE TO THE
WBA FINAL FOUR

In the 2004 WBA Playoff action this evening, the #3 Raleigh Knights and #4 Kentucky Reach both advance out of the first round play-in games advancing to the final four in Jackson, Mississippi this Friday and Saturday (June 25 & 26).

In Raleigh, the Knights knocked off #6 Rome Gladiators 88-79 behind a 26 point effort from Anthony Grundy (G-N.C. State) and Dwayne Marable (F-Miles) who finished with 21 points. The win improved the Knights to a season high seven game win streak and a 13-8 record. Rome finished the 2004 season with a 6-15 record and the lost snapped a season ending two game win streak for the Gladiators.

In Elizabethtown, Kentucky, the Reach ran away from the #6 Macon Blaze 109-86. They were led by guard Antoine Pettway (Alabama) who finished with a game high 32 points. Macon finished the 2004 season with a 6-15 record.

The WBA Championship weekend will tip-off Friday at 6:30 PM (CST) with the Raleigh Knights facing #2 Peachtree (GA) Southern Crescent Lightning (14-6) and at 8:30, #1 Jackson Rage (16-4) will battle Kentucky (11-9) for the final spot in the WBA's 2004 Championship game.

Elizabethtown, KY - The Raleigh Knights needed two wins over the Kentucky Reach to secure the third seed spot of the upcoming WBA 2004 playoffs and they answered the need. The Knights defeated Kentucky 81-75 on Saturday evening and ran away from the Reach in the second game 91-76.

Today's game decided the third seed spot as both entered this weekend's series tied. The win gave the Knights a 12-8 record on the season, while Kentucky finished with a 11-9 record. It was NC State's Anthony Grundy's 31 points that led the Knights in their win this evening.

#1 Jackson Rage (16-4) and #2 Peachtree(GA) Southern Crescent Lightning (14-6) have received a first round bye, while #3 Raleigh will host the #6 - Rome Gladiators (6-14) at 3:30PM on Tuesday and the #4 - Kentucky Reach will host the Macon (GA) Blaze (6-14) at 7:00 PM, also on Tuesday (June 22).

The winners of both games will joined Jackson and Southern Crescent at the final four in Jackson, Mississippi on Friday. The Semi-finals are Friday (June 25) and the Championship is Saturday (June 26).
