Officials on the Move…
Two WBA Officials have been hired
by the NBA effective at the start of the 2004-2005 season.
Please extend your heartfelt
congratulations to:
- Olandis Poole of Newport News, VA
- Eric Lewis of Daytona Beach, FL
Olandis and Eric played vital roles
on the 2004 WBA officiating staff. They exhibited their
leadership abilities and
abundance of experience on the court each game. The
WBA is proud to have had Olandis and Eric participate in
the league.
Unfortunately,
due to NBA contract restrictions that prohibit NBA officials
from working in other professional
leagues,
Olandis and Eric will not be able to work in the
WBA. They will, however, continue to assist with the
development and evaluation
of officials during the 2005 season. We wish Olandis
and Eric great success in their NBA careers.
On
another positive note, six WBA Officials have been hired
by the ACC/SEC effective 2004/05 season.
We want
to congratulate:
- James Barker of Ellenwood, GA
- Ron Groover of Newnan, GA
- Travis Correll of Suwanne, GA
- Jason McNeil of Atlanta, GA
- Brain Forte of Marietta, GA
- John Goble of Miami, FL
We are happy to say that these six officials will continue
to work on the WBA staff for the 2005 season.
We wish each
of them the best in their officiating careers.
